The kids are back in school! There will be many school meetings, recitals, PTA, so there will be a lot of interaction with teachers and other parents.
We wanted to get some insight on how to make sure this school year is a smooth one, so we invited Grace Foxwell Murdock of Professional Grace, back to the DelmarvaLife studio to help us out.
Grace says success starts at home. She says giving them positive talks, along with setting expectations for school behavior and performance, is important to do throughout the school year.
Grace also reminds parents to not immediately place the blame on the child or the school when problems arise.
“It is important for parents to establish a good relationship with their child’s teacher,” Grace says.
Grace concludes by saying it is important for parents to attend school events and be a part of the PTA during the school year.
