If you or a loved one was in this situation-what would you do? Well a man from Ocean Pines, Maryland has been through a long journey of medical trauma and is now doing everything he can in order to get his wife, Caryn Klapholz, a new kidney.
Arie Klapholz and his wife saw an advertisement from a young boy asking for a kidney donor for his mother, and the couple was so inspired by this that they decided to create their own advertisement on the back of his truck! Those in the Delmarva area may be familiar with a black truck saying “My wife needs a kidney! Would you be an organ donor?” on the back.
So far, the Klapholzs have had a tremendous amount of feedback from their advertisement. There are a list of steps a donor must complete in order to qualify for a donation, including a questionnaire to be evaluated and physical testing.
Since the couple’s response has been so successful, their ultimate goal is to find a donor for Caryn, as well as a dozen more to help others in a similar situation to theirs.
