You don’t have to go to San Diego to get in on all of the fun at Comic Con International. Delmarva has its very own Comic Con right in Dover!
Kerri Hollyday and Katy Goff with the Dover Public Library, and cosplayer Kati Coe join us to talk about the event coming up on Saturday, August 6, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m in and around the Dover Public Library, 35 East Loockerman Plaza.
Last year the event had about 7,000 attendees, some in costume, some not. The event began in 2013 just for teens and as a way to promote the Dover Public Library’s graphic novel collection.
In years since, it has expanded. They’ve added artists, vendors, fan groups, activities, panels, food trucks, authors, cars, and this year, bubble soccer, live action role playing, and a mobile video game truck. It sounds like it’s going to be a great time and admission is free!
Dover Comic Con is August 6, 10 am – 5 pm. Visit their website for more details.
