The event is a specialized environment made to help veteran students in the Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia regions receive both the information and the resources they need to succeed in academic environments. Registration for the event itself opens in person at 8 a.m. with the event starting at 9 a.m..
“This conference is designed to connect these individuals with the resources available on campus and in the community to help them achieve their dreams,” Public Relations Manager John R. Painter said. “Delaware Tech supports its military veterans, and this is a way for the college to give back to them.”
A special keynote will be hosted at 9:30 a.m. featuring Senior Chief Special Warfare Operator (SEAL) Edward C. Byers Jr. Byers served 11 overseas deployments including nine combat tours and is the sixth Navy SEAL in U.S. history to receive a Medal of honor.
Along with the keynote, presentations from expert speakers on peer support, mental health, employment and educational programming will be made available for attendees.
