Polar Bear Plunge and Special Olympics Delaware – Thursday, January 29, 2015

Sean Streicher takes “the plunge” for Special Olympics Delaware! More than 3,000 people took the plunge into the Atlantic Ocean in Lewes, Delaware this past weekend. Special Olympics Delaware raised a record $780,000 through its biggest fundraiser of the year, the Lewes Polar Bear Plunge.

The air temperature was 41 degrees and the water temperature was 37 degrees.

Funds will support Special Olympics Delaware, which serves 3,700 children and adults with intellectual disabilities, providing sports training, athletic competition and most importantly the opportunity to socialize.
