“Poinsettia Pointers” with Ginny – Friday, December 11, 2015

Friday on DelmarvaLife, Gardening Expert Ginny Rosenkranz joined us with a few “poinsettia pointers.” Ginny says the colorful “flowers” of a poinsettia are actually modified leaves called bracts! She has some advice when choosing the perfect poinsettia:

-Choose Colors That Complement the Home

-The Leaves Should Cover Most of the Stem

-Flowers in Center Should Be Tiny & Tight

-Leaves Should be Green, Not Yellow or Black

Ginny also says it’s important to keep poinsettias warm and away from cold drafts. They should only be watered once a week.
