Big Ed Beckley, owner of Checkered Flag Productions, says this year, the trucks will get even more air than years prior.
“This year we threw away the rule book and we’ll let the drivers turn the horsepower up on their trucks. No maximum engine size, no weight minimum…” said Big Ed Beckley, owner of Checkered Flag Productions.
The most famous monster truck in the world, Bigfoot, will return for yet another year of competition.
“We know when we come to race that we are a target, and everyone wants to beat us,” said Bigfoot’s driver.
Monster Medic, Tow Mater, Illuminator, Rislone Defender and Saigon Shaker will also be making appearances this year.
The Saigon Shaker was built by The Metal Shop in Delmar, Del., making it a local favorite. The Metal Shop has been involved in the Monster Trucks Winternationals for years.
“Rick Disharoon started in this business nearly 20 years ago with his Backdraft truck, and we are excited to see their new truck,” said Beckley.
All of the Monsters will compete in several different competitions, including racing, wheelie contests and freestyle car crushing.
Not only will there be trucks, the show will feature motorcycle daredevil, Ed Beckley himself. Beckley and a passenger will make a World Record attempt to launch a specially built Harley-Davidson jump bike off a ramp over a long line of cars with both of them on the same motorcycle.
