We’re making tuna tacos and learning about an event to raise money for low income families.
Chefs for Habitat 2017 Gourmet Gala is an annual celebration hosted by Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County that raises money for low income partner families homes.
Local chefs provide samples of their best dishes, and there will be live and silent auctions.
Chef Dan Mears will be there representing Reign Restaurant and Event Center as well as Corner Grill, both in Salisbury. Dan appeared on DelmarvaLife Monday to show off the Tuna Tacos he will be making at the event. Other chefs include Ryan Cunningham of Abbott’s on Broad Creek in Laurel; Jeremy Dashiell of Vittles Food Truck, Frank Dubinski, head chef at Heritage Shores; Jeremy Burns, Owner of Burns Catering; Marc Duncan, The Wilde Hare Bakery; Tony Hilligoss, Wicomico County culinary arts instructor; Jason Myers, Executive Chef at Roadie Joe’s; Joel Olive, Executive Chef at Mojo’s; Gerry Patt, Chef at Captain’s Cove; Susan Patt, Owner of Cake Art and Cupcake Cafe; Patty Henley, Saval Food Service Head Chef; Brenton Wallace, Head Chef at Crust & Craft; and Theresa Whitelock, Owner of Sugar Rush.
Something new this year is the Celebrity Build. Local celebrities will compete in a building project.
Guests will also enjoy the music and have a chance to bid on an array of live and silent auction prizes featuring sumptuous dinners and parties catered by some of the Shore’s best chefs.
A portion of the silent auction will be ear-marked to benefit The Downing Project in Princess Anne.
