For one mother, a mid-life career change was a labor of love. Leslie Bergquist, Owner of Emma’s Sweets, started her own candy business in order to give children with disabilities a way to spread their wings. Her daughter, Lauren, has down syndrome and joins Leslie at the bakery after school and on the weekends. As the business grows, Leslie’s dream is to higher more employees like her daughter.
