Monkee Paw started in 2008 as an acoustic duo, with Mike Givens on guitar and vocals, and Adam ask on percussion. On previous performances on DelmarvaLife, Mike and Adam alternated on drums, lead vocals and guitar, accompanied by their bass player, Rick Smith. That trio was the formation for the first six years of Monkee Paw’s existence. The group was proud to welcome Joseph “Joe Mama” Wirt to take over drumming duties. These days, Mike and Adam front the band, both playing guitar and lead singer roles, with Adam generally as the lead guitarist.
Joe Mama is well-known in the Ocean City area and he plays with several different bands. He has used his performances to benefit Believe in Tomorrow Children’s Foundation through “Joe Mama Day” at Coconuts.
