Jenny Nauman is the principal of Richard A. Shields Elementary School in Lewes, Del. She was recently names Delaware’s 2016 National Distinguished Principal of the Year. Jenny talks about her career and her love for the students.
If you think about it, your cell phone is probably full of germs. There is a product known as the Phone Soap and the ads claim it cleans your phone while it’s charging. Sean puts the Phone Soap to the test.
Sean stops by Berlin, Md. to learn about the annual bathtub races, which has to be one of the more unique events here on Delmarva. This is the 27th Annual Bathtub Parade and it begins at 6 pm on Friday, July 15.
Shawn Hardy, manager of The Salty Wave in Harrington, Del., joins us in the DelmarvaLife kitchen to make shrimp quesadillas.
Shrimp Quesadilla- makes 4
- 8- 7″ tortillas
- 1- pound cooked shrimp
- 1/4 cup of pico de gallo
- 1 cup cheddar/Monterey jack cheese
- Pinch of shrimp seasoning
- Peppers and onions to taste
Place 1/4 pound of shrimp, table spoon of pico, 1/4 cup of cheese and peppers/onions to taste on 4 tortillas. Season with shrimp spice. Place on hot pan and add a top tortilla to each quesadilla.
Pico de gallo
- 2 cups of diced Roma tomatoes
- 1/2 cup of diced red onions
- 2 oz chopped garlic
- 2 oz chopped jalapenos
- 4 limes of fresh squeezed lime juice
- 1/4 cup of finely chopped silantro
- Teaspoon of salt
- Teaspoon of pepper
The Owner of the OC Fish Company, Joe White, also stops by the DelmarvaLife kitchen to make soft shell crabs.
Soft shells crab- makes 2
- 2 local jumbo soft shell crabs
- 4 pieces of white bread very lighty toasted
- 1 cup of seasoned panko and crushed cracker crumbs
- 1 cup of butter milk
- 1/4 cup of clarified butter
Clean fresh soft shell crab
Drench in butter milk
Lightly dust seasoned panko/crushed cracker crumbs
Sautee in hot pan with .5 table spoons of clarified butter for 3 min the first side and 2 min the second side
Serve on white bread
