Today on DelmarvaLife:
Delaware Burn Camp Director, Joanne Hutchison, and camp attendee Lincoln Cykowski join us to help get the word out about the program for burn victims. The camp, hosted in Dover Del., August 8-13, is free for campers ages 6-18, and supports young burn victims through their healing process with physical and social activities like boating, archery, arts and crafts and dancing. Joanne tells us many members of the staff are burn victims themselves, others are nurses, fire fighters and volunteers all there to provide companionship and a supportive environment for kids just like Lincoln. For more information, or if you know a child who would be interested in the camp, you can contact the Delaware Burn Camp here.
Jimmy, Lisa and Sean dig into our mail bag to see what viewers have to say about the show. We take your comments very seriously so keep sending them in, we’re listening!
We’re learning all about spices today in the DelmarvaLife kitchen, Owner of The Spice and Tea Exchange in Ocean City, Md., and Rehoboth Beach, Del., Joy Quinn-Whalen stops by to show us some tasty drinks and snacks we can make with their spice blends. The best part, everything was easy to make! You can find recipes on The Spice and Tea Exchange website, or go into one of their locations and they’ll help you find the perfect spices for your favorite foods.
After the show, we had a tasting party in the DelmarvaLife studio. Audience members got to try some of the dips Sean, Lisa, and The Spice and Tea Exchange whipped up during the show.
