Today on DelmarvaLife:
Fridays are for fun on DelmarvaLife. We’ll start with a stop in Princess Anne where “Summer on Somerset” is about to kick off for the season. If you’re looking for the perfect summer evening, Summer on Somerset is where you’ll find it – music, food, shopping, and so much more. Summer on Somerset takes place on every Thursday from 5pm – 7pm on Somerset Avenue in downtown Princess Anne. You might even spot Marshall P. Muskrat. DelmarvaLife’s Sydney Whitfield was lucky enough to snap a selfie with Marshall.
Anytime we get word of people on Delmarva doing big things to better the lives of our neighbors, friends and family, we want to thank them. That’s exactly the case with our friends at The Parker Group at Linda Vista. They told us last month about their “Give Local” campaign – an effort to simply make a difference on Delmarva. They’re doing that by partnering with Sussex County Habitat for Humanity. After last week’s Rising Tide event, you probably already know that Habitat partners with volunteers to build affordable homes for qualified families on Delmarva. As part of the “Give Local” campaign, The Parker Group recently donated almost $4,000 to Habitat. We’ll learn more about it today.
We’re expecting a blazing hot weekend, and a lot of people on Delmarva will make their way to a beach or a pool. Once the sun goes down, though, summer nights are best spent on the back porch or around a fire pit. Lisa shows us you don’t have to skimp on style or comfort when it comes to outdoor patio fun – not if you stop at Johnny Janosik World of Outdoor Furniture in Laurel.
We are looking forward to welcoming Christine Havrilla & Gypsy Fuzz on the Mid South Audio Stage. Christine understands that a song can do a lot for someone who is hurting, who is happy, who is misunderstood, or who just wants to sit back and get lost in their thoughts. Christine will perform two of her songs for us today – “Sing” and “Said it Once.”
We continue our giveaways in the 2018 DelmarvaLife Summer Guide. We announce four winners today. Will you be one of them?
