Today on DelmarvaLife:
It’s the 2018 DelmarvaLife Halloween Show!
Trick-or-Treat’s dates and times for Delmarva can be found here.
As part of National Orthodontic Health Month, orthodontists Dr. Michael Tilghman and Dr. Carrie Schwartz invite kids to trade in Halloween candy.
The doctors are offering $2 for every pound of Halloween treats surrendered. They will be accepting up to five pounds of candy per person – limited to the first 500 pounds collected. The candy will be used to benefit Operation We Care’s “Support Our Troops” Project. Tilghman Orthodontics will accept new, unopened Halloween candy at the weigh-in on November 1st at their Berlin office and November 2nd at their Salisbury office.
We can’t ignore the fact that certain dangers can arise at your home Halloween night. We’re trying to help you avoid those dangers and to do that, we’ve enlisted the help of our friends at the Parker Group at Linda Vista – Dustin and Rachel Parker.

It takes quite a bit of time to come up with elaborate costumes. Let’s be real – many of us just do not have the time to make that happen. So, we have got a few last minute DIY costume creations for you!
It’s not all about tricks here on the DelmarvaLife Halloween Show. We’ve got treats too! We’re making ghost pizza bagels and apple peanut butter teeth.
Ingredients:
- Sliced mozzarella cheese
- Mini bagels
- Marinara sauce
- Black olives
Directions:
- Preheat over to 350 degrees.
- Cut mozzarella slices into ghost shapes.
- Spread a thin layer of marinara over bagel and top with cheesy ghost.
- Bake until cheese is melty.
- Cut olives into little pieces for eyes.
Ingredients:
- Apples
- Creamy peanut butter
- Mini marshmallows
Directions:
- Cut apple into slices.
- Spread each slice with peanut butter on one side.
- Line a few mini marshmallows on top of peanut butter.
- Place another apple slice, peanut butter side facing down, to make an apple slice sandwich.
We can’t have a Halloween show without getting a little gross! We’re playing poke-a-pumpkin. Lisa and Corey go head-to-head in a competition to see who can find three plastic spiders first by punching through tissue paper covered cups. The catch? Many cups are filled with not so pleasant things like baked beans, a mashed banana, and salsa! Who will win? Find out at 5 pm!
We’re also putting a spin on bobbing for apples. But Corey and Sydney were not aware of the “spin” beforehand. We filled buckets with water and apples and then blindfolded them. But that isn’t the only twist! Tune in at 5 pm to see more!
Nominations are open in Delmarva’s Neediest Roof contest, brought to you by Spicer Bros. Construction. They’re giving away two roofs this year. You can nominate someone through October 28th. Spicer Brothers will surprise the winners in December, during a segment on DelmarvaLife. To read the rules and to nominate someone, click here.
