Battle of the Badges is to be held in Delaware this weekend. This is the first time the Battle of the Badges has been held in Delaware! The event will be hosted by Saint Thomas More Academy located at 133 Thomas More Dr., Magnolia, DE. It’s a nice way to support law enforcement as the tournament seeks to support family members of fallen law enforcement officers. This year’s honoree is Lt. Steven Floyd, the Corrections Officer who lost his life in the prison riot.
BSA and Compliance Officer with Provident State Bank, Jennifer Jones, is here to talk about ways to keep your money and your identity safe if you use credit cards. We’re also learning about the different ways your account information could be hijacked.
Heather Mahler of the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore and Recipient of “Big of the Year” Award joins us today. We’ll also meet Heather’s mentee or “little,” Nalijah Ewell. Hear about some of the responsibilities of a mentor, and how they change lives on Delmarva. We’re also learning about Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore.
Karah Lacey, Project Coordinator of the Downtown Pocomoke Association is here to talk about the Downtown Pocomoke Fall Festival. Visitors can expect hay rides, a corn pit and pumpkin painting. Not to mention the Free Hook’d On Fishin’ Program, a car show, and of course a costume competition. It’s all happening in Saturday, October 13, 2018, beginning at 11:00 am and ending at 4:00 pm in downtown Pocomoke City. In the event of inclement weather, the festival will be rescheduled for the following Saturday, October 20, 2018, from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.
