Author Discussion with Patry Francis and Nan Rossiter
April 27 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm| Free
Join us for an online conversation between authors Patry Francis and Nan Rossiter, as they discuss their latest books, All the Children Are Home (Francis) and Promises to Keep (Rossiter).
Set in the late 1950s through 1960s in a small town in Massachusetts, Patry Francis’ All the Children Are Home follows the Moscatelli family—Dahlia and Louie, foster parents, and their long-term foster children Jimmy, Zaidie, and Jon—and the irrevocable changes in their lives when a six-year-old indigenous girl, Agnes, comes to live with them. In the heartwarming sequel to Promises of the Heart in the Savannah Skies series, Nan Rossiter returns to Tybee Island off the Georgia coast to focus on beloved characters Maeve and Gage as their relationship is tested by secrets they are keeping from each other.
Patry Francis is the author of The Liar’s Diary and the blog 100 Days of Discipline for Writers. Her poetry and short stories have appeared in the Tampa Review, Antioch Review, Colorado Review, Ontario Review, and American Poetry Review, among other publications. She is a three-time nominee for the Pushcart Prize and has twice been the recipient of the Massachusetts Cultural Council Grant. She lives in Massachusetts.
Nan Rossiter is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design and began her writing career in the world of children’s books. Along with her many contemporary fiction novels, she is the author/illustrator of several books for children, including Rugby & Rosie, winner of Nebraska’s Golden Sower Award, and The Fo’c’sle: Henry Beston’s “Outermost House”. Nan lives on a country road in Connecticut with her husband and a solemn black Lab named Finn who diligently watches her every move and can be roused from a slumber in a distant room by the sound of a banana being peeled or a cookie crumb hitting the floor. Nan and her husband are the parents of two handsome sons who have struck out on life journeys of their own.
