Choptank Electric

Choptank Electric, a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, is a member-owned electric distribution utility with headquarters in Denton, Maryland. It serves over 52,140 residential, commercial and industrial accounts in parts of all nine counties of Maryland's Eastern Shore. 

The Cooperative Difference
The difference between Choptank Electric Cooperative and other power companies is that we are "Owned by those we serve". Each person who receives service from this non-profit, member-owned electric utility is a member - and an owner.

Chartered in 1938, Choptank's first 78 miles of line were energized in Caroline County in December of 1939.
Choptank Electric Cooperative exists to provide energy and other related services that improve the quality of life for our member-owners.
